Director of Production Sales - Building & Construction

A well-established, premium manufacturer is seeking a Director of Production Sales to lead a key revenue segment and oversee relationships with major clients. This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who is equally at home closing at the executive table and developing the people behind the numbers. You will inherit a portfolio of established accounts and a team ready to be led with clarity and accountability.

If you know the production home builder landscape, understand how to win and protect multi-million dollar contracts, and can lead a team while managing upward with confidence, this role was built for you.This role is primarily on-site, with regular travel within the region.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Market Leadership

•        Serve as the primary relationship owner for key production builder and developer accounts across the Greater Bay Area

•        Identify and secure new builder partnerships and emerging market players

•        Represent the organisation at industry events and builder forums

•        Monitor regional housing trends and competitive activity to inform strategy

Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth

•        Own annual revenue targets, forward-looking pipeline strategy, and account-level growth plans

•        Lead bidding and pricing strategy for early-stage and conceptual projects

•        Develop option and upgrade packages to maximise average job value

•        Partner closely with internal teams to align customer commitments with operational capabilities

Pricing & Margin Strategy

•        Build and maintain structured pricing models aligned with gross margin goals

•        Analyse win/loss data and market intelligence to sharpen bid quality

•        Collaborate with Finance and Executive Leadership on commercial and pricing strategy

Leadership & Team Development

•        Lead, develop, and hold accountable a team of approximately 10 direct and indirect reports

•        Build a culture of performance, professional growth, and ownership

•        Cross-functionally align with Production, Engineering, and Finance to ensure accurate bids and seamless delivery

Forecasting & Performance Management

•        Own the Production Sales forecast and revenue outlook

•        Track and report on KPIs including shipped revenue, gross margin, win rate, and average job value

•        8+ years of progressive B2B sales leadership experience in building products, construction, manufacturing, or a closely related industry

•        2+ years of people leadership with a demonstrated ability to develop teams and drive accountability

•        Proven track record of delivering multi-million dollar revenue growth

•        Expertise in pricing strategy, bid management, and margin optimisation

•        Strong executive presence with excellent relationship-building and communication skills at the builder/developer level

•        Solid financial and commercial acumen

•        Demonstrated ability to manage upward effectively and operate with confidence through leadership transitions

Preferred Qualifications

•        Direct experience selling to production or luxury home builders

•        Knowledge of the Greater Bay Area builder and developer market

•        Background in cabinetry, millwork, or a closely related building product category

•        Experience with option-driven or highly customisable product lines

•        Background in manufacturing-to-order or engineered-to-order environments

•        Experience navigating complex founder-led or ownership-transition organisations

•        BS/BA degree in a related field (preferred, not required)

Base Salary: $190,000 – $250,000 per year

Actual offer will be determined based on experience and qualifications. In compliance with the California Pay Transparency Law (SB 1162), the full pay range for this role is disclosed above.

This position offers a strong, stable base salary complemented by a company performance bonus - there is no commission structure.
