Skills
- Proficiency in CAD and FEA tools for mechanical design and analysis
- Hands-on experience with thermal and structural testing and validation
- Strong application of GD&T and tolerance analysis
- Experience with pressure testing, vibration, and fatigue testing of assemblies
- Ability to collaborate with PCB designers and integrate electro-mechanical systems
- Experience supporting production and design for manufacturability
Responsibilities
- Design custom instrumentation and integrated product solutions for extreme thermal, dynamic, and pressure environments
- Perform thermal, structural, and tolerance analysis using hand calculations and finite element analysis
- Create 3D models, production drawings, and maintain design data
- Support manufacturing processes including pressure testing, thermal testing, laser welding, and other production activities
- Conduct failure analysis related to thermal, loads, vibration, and shock
- Interface with machine shops, suppliers, and production teams to ensure manufacturability
- Lead design reviews internally and with external suppliers/partners
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems, or Electrical Engineering (required)
- Master's degree in engineering or related technical discipline (preferred)
