Engineering Program Manager, Wiring & LVS

Archer is an aerospace company developing an all-electric VTOL aircraft in San Jose focused on sustainable urban air mobility. We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead planning, execution, and delivery of Wiring & Low Voltage Systems (LVS) work packages, managing schedule, budget, suppliers, integration, and certification-focused deliverables across cross-functional teams.

Skills

  • Foundational understanding of electrical systems and wiring harness design principles
  • Program/project management experience in aerospace or highly regulated product development
  • Experience managing design, development, and integration of LVS and wiring harnesses
  • Knowledge of industry standards for electrical components and wiring harness design
  • Proficiency with program management tools and EVM or similar metrics
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills
  • Experience managing multiple suppliers to meet quality, schedule, and cost targets
  • Ability to manage multiple complex technical workstreams and stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate LVS and wiring design activities from concept through aircraft implementation to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Lead cross-functional wiring and LVS teams, set priorities, delegate responsibilities, and drive timely execution of deliverables.
  • Direct supplier management for LVS hardware and wiring harness manufacturers with focus on schedule, quality, and cost.
  • Coordinate with aircraft systems teams to define and manage wiring and LVS interfaces and integration points.
  • Oversee development and maintenance of LVS and wiring documentation including diagrams, drawings, hardware configurations, and certification artifacts.
  • Facilitate trade studies and technical analyses for component selection and optimization.
  • Ensure adherence to program milestones, regulatory compliance, and certification requirements.
  • Manage program schedule, risks, and opportunities for LVS and wiring integration with structures and electrical systems.
  • Organize and lead design reviews and stage-gate approvals emphasizing performance, manufacturability, and certification objectives.
  • Plan and oversee technical analysis and testing to validate LVS and wiring hardware and software.
  • Track and manage functional and performance requirements throughout the program lifecycle and coordinate verification activities (lab, ground, flight).
  • Identify, track, and mitigate technical risks related to LVS and wiring design and integration.
  • Manage, track, and report progress on assigned LVS and wiring work packages using EVM or similar metrics.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and design records and communicate status and key decisions to stakeholders and executives.
  • Run technical and cross-functional coordination meetings related to core LVS/wiring activities and prepare senior-level presentations.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field (required)
  • Master's degree in relevant field or MBA (preferred)
  • PMP or equivalent certification (preferred)
