Skills
- Active U.S. Secret security clearance (must be able to maintain).
- Strong theoretical and practical expertise in state estimation (Kalman filters, EKF/UKF, IMM).
- Experience with multi-target tracking concepts and data association methods (JPDA, MHT, NN).
- Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python for algorithm development and demonstrated transition of algorithms to C++ for production.
- Experience with modeling, simulation, Monte Carlo analysis, sensor data playback, or HIL testing.
- Experience integrating algorithms into operational systems and collaborating across software, systems, and test teams.
- Experience handling cluttered, contested sensing environments and maneuvering targets.
- Familiarity with real-time and embedded system constraints for algorithm optimization.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement advanced object tracking and state estimation algorithms (track initiation, maintenance, correlation, termination).
- Develop and evaluate multi-target tracking and multi-sensor fusion approaches for EO/IR, RF, or hybrid sensor architectures.
- Implement data association techniques including JPDA, MHT, nearest neighbor, and track-to-track fusion.
- Build physics-based models and conduct Monte Carlo, recorded-sensor playback, and hardware-in-the-loop simulation to validate tracking performance.
- Conduct performance analysis, trade studies, and simulation-based assessments under contested sensing and maneuvering-target scenarios.
- Collaborate with software engineers to transition MATLAB/Python prototypes to optimized, production C/C++ implementations for real-time systems.
- Support systems engineering lifecycle activities including requirements decomposition, V&V planning, and design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR).
- Prepare technical documentation and briefings for internal design reviews and customer engagements.
Education
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or related technical field.
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) preferred but not required.
