Skills
- Strong expertise in computer vision and applied machine learning
- Production deployment experience for ML models (real-time inference)
- Proficient in Python for data analysis and production code
- Familiarity with C++ (or similar) for performance-sensitive components
- Experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch or JAX
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with ML ops tools (Kubeflow, Ray, MLFlow) and monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana)
- Stream processing experience (Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ or equivalent)
- Database knowledge (PostgreSQL or similar) and Linux proficiency
- Experience applying AI to physics or simulation (PINNs, surrogate modeling) is highly desirable
Responsibilities
- Lead computer vision model development and deployment for real-time production inspection and automated defect recognition
- Architect and implement scalable pipelines for training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and retraining (Ray Train/Serve, Kubeflow, Airflow or equivalent)
- Develop software to integrate hardware, sensors, and tooling including sensor fusion for AI-driven process monitoring
- Build and optimize data pipelines from production lines with real-time stream processing and inference
- Collaborate with part/process engineers, NDE engineers, and materials scientists to connect model outputs to manufacturing decisions
- Lead design and code reviews, technology evaluations, and enforce best practices (CI/CD, testing, style, efficiency)
- Implement model monitoring, versioning, A/B testing, and drift detection in production
Education
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, physics, or related STEM discipline
- OR 8+ years professional experience building and deploying AI/ML software in lieu of a degree
