Skills
- Experience with multi-physics simulation tools (e.g., ALE3D, Ansys Autodyn/LS-DYNA, CTH, Sierra, Zapotec).
- Proficiency in Matlab and Python for analysis, post-processing, and automation.
- Hands-on munitions test experience including data acquisition, test planning, and safety practices.
- Strong technical writing and engineering documentation skills.
- Ability to work across programs, synthesize literature and empirical data, and communicate results to stakeholders.
- Eligibility to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Develop and run multi-physics models and hand calculations to evaluate warhead lethality and ordnance performance.
- Create pre-test predictions, correlate simulation outputs with test data, and refine models based on results.
- Plan and manage munitions testing end-to-end, including experimental design, safety coordination, data capture, and analysis.
- Assemble/disassemble explosive test articles and precision targets and support instrumentation and data acquisition.
- Produce engineering documentation: specifications, test procedures, technical reports, and drawings.
- Support cross-program technical decision making and provide analysis to reduce unnecessary physical testing.
Education
- BS or higher in mechanical, aerospace, explosives, or a related engineering discipline.
