Job Description

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Director of Scheduling to lead scheduling services across key data center client accounts. This individual will oversee complex scheduling programs, drive best practices, provide strategic leadership to project teams, and support business growth within the data center sector.

This position requires onsite presence Monday–Friday in Holly Ridge, Louisiana. Local candidates or those open to relocation are preferred, but a per diem is available for those unable to relocate.

The Director will oversee project‑level and program‑level scheduling, including Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) development, while mentoring a team of schedulers and serving as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders. This role requires someone who can step in quickly, operate in a fast‑paced environment, and provide leadership with minimal ramp‑up.

Responsibilities:

  • Regular travel to construction site is expected.
  • Lead the creation, management, and oversight of detailed, resource‑loaded schedules for multiple large‑scale data center construction projects.
  • Establish and implement standardized scheduling best practices, processes, and tools across the program.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in project planning and scheduling methodologies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all scheduling‑related matters with internal leadership, client partners, and general contractors.
  • Support business development efforts and contribute to growth of scheduling/project controls services within new and existing client accounts.
  • Oversee development and maintenance of the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and ensure alignment across design, engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
  • Establish baseline schedules, evaluate schedule performance, and develop KPIs for multi‑project data center programs.
  • Conduct high‑level schedule reviews, scenario modeling, and trend analysis to support program‑level decision‑making.
  • Ensure schedule data is accurately integrated with cost, risk, and reporting systems (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, client dashboards).
  • Collaborate with Project Controls, Finance, and Project Management teams to ensure schedule accuracy and alignment with budgets and resource plans.
  • Monitor schedule risks and opportunities and support mitigation planning with senior stakeholders.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of schedulers across multiple project sites.
  • Provide performance feedback, support professional growth, and ensure high levels of technical competency within the scheduling function.
  • Foster a collaborative, proactive, and results‑driven team culture.
  • Facilitate regular schedule coordination meetings with project managers, design teams, GCs, subcontractors, and client leadership.
  • Communicate schedule updates, risks, and recommendations clearly through dashboards, executive‑level presentations, and written reports.
  • Support conflict resolution, decision‑making, and negotiation related to schedule impacts.
  • Oversee preparation of monthly program reporting, including 1‑, 3‑, and 6‑month lookahead schedules.
  • Coordinate and manage multiple schedule inputs into a cohesive program‑level master schedule.
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.

Qualifications

Required

  • Proximity to Holly Ridge, LA (or willingness to travel) - 5 days a week on project in Holly Ridge, LA.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of scheduling experience on large‑scale construction projects, including multi‑project or program‑level responsibilities.
  • 2+ years leading high‑performing scheduling or project controls teams (consulting experience preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for complex programs.
  • Expert proficiency in Primavera P6, including baseline development, critical path/variance analysis, and advanced reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, MEP systems, and commissioning/turnover workflows.
  • Proven ability to manage and deliver schedules in fast‑paced, mission‑critical or data center environments.
  • Strong analytical and decision‑making abilities, including the ability to develop conceptual schedules from limited information.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and senior‑level stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel and data visualization tools such as Power BI and/or Tableau.

Preferred

  • Graduate degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PSP (AACE), CCM, or EIT.
  • Experience in data center or mission‑critical construction.
  • Background in Project Controls (cost, estimating, risk).
  • Demonstrated business development acumen to support the growth of scheduling services.
