POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Cause Analyst & Change Management PM serves as the enterprise lead for change control governance and root cause analysis (RCA) across Critical Site Operations, IT, and corporate functions. This role ensures operational and IT changes are properly reviewed, documented, and executed, while incidents and failures are analyzed objectively and constructively to prevent recurrence.

The Cause Analyst & Change Management PM manages the Change Control Program, oversees RCA processes, and drives continuous improvement through structured governance, data-driven insights, and cross-functional collaboration. This role ensures the organization learns from every event, embedding reliability, accountability, and efficiency into day-to-day operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Ownership

  • Oversee and track all RCA processes following incidents, service interruptions, or critical changes.
  • Ensure accountability and follow-up on corrective and preventive action items through closure.
  • Implement and maintain a knowledge base or lessons-learned library, documenting causes, mitigation tactics, and best practices.
  • Facilitate cross-functional RCA sessions across Operations, IT, Cybersecurity, HR, Finance, and other business units.
  • Ensure impartiality in the RCA process, maintaining separation of duties and avoiding conflicts of interest.
  • Provide RCA training and coaching, promoting a “learning culture” that emphasizes prevention and compliance.
  • Collect and report RCA metrics, including number of analyses conducted, resolution time, and completion of corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with policy and governance teams to develop and maintain enterprise RCA policies and procedures.

Change Management Governance

  • Lead and facilitate Change Approval Board (CAB), ensuring compliance with Enterprise Change Control policy and documentation standards.
  • Coordinate the end-to-end change management lifecycle — assessment, approval, execution, validation, and closure.
  • Oversee change calendar and communication plans to minimize operational risk and service disruption.
  • Maintain and evolve change management policy, criteria, and templates.
  • Track and report change performance metrics (volume, success rate, emergency change percentage, and rework trends).

Process Improvement & Continuous Optimization

  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline processes across Operations, IT, and corporate functions.
  • Lead Lean and Six Sigma–based improvement projects to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance service quality.
  • Integrate RCA lessons and mitigation tactics into updated standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Measure process performance using KPIs and communicate progress through dashboards and executive reports.
  • Support enterprise continuous improvement initiatives with the potential to expand leadership scope as the organization grow

Leadership & Culture

  • Promote operational excellence through structure, transparency, and proactive communication.
  • Mentor team members and stakeholders in effective change control, problem-solving, and RCA methodology.
  • Foster collaboration across technical and operational disciplines, emphasizing learning rather than blame.
  • Model company values: Nice, Smart, Honest, and Passionate.

MINUMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience leading change management, RCA, process improvement, or operations governance.
  • Experience in mission-critical environments (e.g., data centers, energy, utilities, or manufacturing).
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL change management and RCA methodologies (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone, Apollo, TapRoot).
  • Excellent facilitation and analytical skills for managing cross-functional meetings and investigations.
  • Proven ability to influence without authority across technical and business teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree or MBA.
  • ITIL v4 certification or equivalent.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with enterprise tools such as Smartsheet, Planview Adaptive Work, ServiceNow, Jira, CMMS, or DCIM.
  • Familiarity with regulatory or compliance-driven RCA requirements.

  • Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)
  • Retirement Plan (401k, IRA)
  • Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D)
  • Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)
  • Family Leave (Maternity, Paternity)
  • Short Term & Long Term Disability
  • Training & Development
  • Work From Home
  • Wellness Resources
