Sr. Government Sales Manager - job 1 of 2

SpaceX Government Sales is expanding to support Starshield communications capabilities for national security customers. The Sr. Government Sales Manager will set sales strategy, lead capture and pricing efforts for Department of War engagements, develop quantitative pricing and market models, and coordinate cross-functionally to win competitively bid procurements.

Skills

  • Data-driven decision making, quantitative modeling, and market analysis
  • Business development and capture management in the US government/defense space
  • Proposal pricing and cost development experience
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Working knowledge of Department of War/DoD acquisition processes
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (~20-40%)

Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive sales efforts and results within the Department of War
  • Analyze complex customer markets to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for Starshield adoption
  • Engage with end users to evaluate alternative technical solutions and inform sales approaches
  • Represent SpaceX at customer sites, technical meetings, program reviews, and conferences
  • Support senior-level engagement internally and with customer leadership
  • Develop and maintain authoritative data sources to inform pricing models and market size estimates
  • Own cost and pricing portions of proposal development from start to finish
  • Collaborate with engineering, customer ops, finance, and other teams to drive capture strategy and execution
  • Evaluate and establish partnerships with industry where advantageous
  • Reconcile divergent stakeholder demands in a fast-paced environment

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s in a technical discipline
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in a technical discipline or MBA
