People Operations Specialist [Remote-US]

Quanata builds context-based insurance solutions backed by State Farm, combining Silicon Valley talent with insurance expertise. We are seeking a People Operations Specialist to manage employee lifecycle processes, maintain HRIS data and compliance, support payroll and benefits operations, and improve operational workflows to deliver a consistent, scalable employee experience.

Skills

  • Proficiency with HRIS systems: data management, reporting, troubleshooting, and process optimization
  • Strong knowledge of employee lifecycle processes, recordkeeping standards, and HR compliance
  • Experience coordinating payroll-related payments and system validation
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and cross-functional partnership skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end onboarding and offboarding processes, including trainings, background checks, and I-9 verifications
  • Process employee lifecycle changes and maintain accurate employee records and certifications in the HRIS
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to HRIS, policies, verifications, and maintain confidentiality
  • Create and maintain intranet content, job aids, labor law postings, and updates to the employee handbook
  • Partner with Payroll and Compensation on additional payments, system configuration, and annual merit testing
  • Provide backup support for payroll and benefits activities including billing reconciliation and deduction imports
  • Administer Guusto service anniversary platform and coordinate retirement/anniversary awards
  • Prepare ad hoc and regulatory compliance reporting (e.g., EEOC, CA Pay Data) and recurring data requests

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience OR equivalent relevant experience
