Global Sales Introduction

AI is rapidly moving beyond research labs and into the real world—powering advancements in vehicles, factories, hospitals, homes, and everyday devices. NXP’s Global Sales organization is the force that transforms our intelligent edge vision into meaningful market impact. We operate on the front lines of innovation, delivering real‑world AI, secure edge intelligence, and breakthrough technologies to the customers shaping tomorrow’s world. As a strategic partner at the intersection of customer ambition and NXP capability, our global sales team drives alignment, opens new markets, and builds the relationships that lead to design wins and revenue growth. Through deep market insight and long‑term collaboration, we embed customer‑centricity into every decision and help accelerate innovation at the system‑solution level. This disciplined, client‑first mindset enables us to architect integrated, future‑ready solutions that deliver sustained value and strengthen NXP’s competitive advantage. We thrive in a high‑performance, high‑ownership environment—competing boldly, executing with urgency, and celebrating results. If you want to win big, grow fast, and work with the customers building what’s next, NXP Global Sales is where ambition becomes achievement.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to join our Americas Automotive sales and business development team to drive strategy, customer engagement, and growth for automotive microcontrollers (MCUs), processors, and vehicle E/E architectures. This role is responsible for shaping OEM and Tier‑1 adoption of NXP compute platforms supporting zonal architectures, SDV (Software‑Defined Vehicles), ADAS, electrification, and centralized computing. One of the most important aspects of this role is also to understand customer pain points and trends to help shape NXP roadmap. The ideal candidate combines deep automotive system knowledge, strong customer executive engagement, and cross‑functional leadership across product management, engineering, and sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the business development strategy for Americas for automotive MCUs, processors, and vehicle compute architectures (zonal / centralized).

  • Identify and drive design‑win opportunities with global automotive OEMs and Tier‑1 suppliers.

  • Develop long‑term platform strategies aligned with OEM roadmaps for SDV, ADAS, body, chassis, powertrain, and electrification.

  • Translate market and customer requirements into clear product and roadmap inputs to Product Lines.

  • Act as primary interface to OEM and Tier‑1 technical and executive stakeholders (Architects, HW and SW engineers and leaders).

  • Lead customer workshops on vehicle E/E architecture evolution, including zonal controllers, network topology, safety, and compute consolidation.

  • Influence customer decisions through system‑level value propositions, not just component features.

  • Support strategic partnerships across software, middleware, OS, tools, and ecosystem partners.

  • Collaborate with product management and engineering to improve the product roadmap.

  • Support business cases, TAM analysis, pricing strategy, and investment prioritization.

  • Work closely with account managers, FAEs, Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing teams.

  • Support account strategy, opportunity qualification, and executive reviews.

  • Mentor and enable regional sales and technical teams on architecture‑level selling.

  • Represent the company at industry forums, customer technical days, and executive briefings.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics and Communication

  • 8+ years of experience in semiconductors

  • Proven experience in business development, product definition, product management, applications engineering or product marketing for MCUs and or processors

  • Strong understanding of automotive E/E architectures, including:

    • Domain vs. zonal architectures

    • Centralized compute and SDV trends

    • In-vehicle networking (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)

  • Solid system-level understanding of:

    • Automotive MCUs and application processors

    • Software stacks (AUTOSAR Classic/Adaptive, Linux, RTOS)

  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and executive audiences.

  • Strong executive presence and customer‑facing communication skills.

  • Ability to lead cross‑functional teams without direct authority.

  • Strategic thinker with a bias toward execution and measurable outcomes.

  • Open to travel 30-50%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with zonal architectures, centralized gateways, or vehicle compute consolidation.

  • Background in ADAS, body electronics, or electrification platforms.

  • Experience influencing product roadmaps and investment decisions.

  • Functional safety (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity

  • Understanding of AI use cases in automotive

  • Experience in silicon product definition

What Success Looks Like

  • Strategic design wins at major OEMs and Tier‑1s.

  • Clear influence on MCU and processor roadmaps aligned with vehicle architecture evolution and regional customer needs.

  • Strong executive relationships with customer architecture and technology leadership.

  • Tangible revenue growth and long‑term platform adoption.
