Senior Localization Technical Program Manager
Skills
- Proven knowledge of localization processes, workflows, and industry formats for software and web.
- Experience with online translation platforms, CAT tools, and translation management systems (TMS).
- Hands-on experience localizing software or web content at scale with release and maintenance considerations.
- Ability to read and navigate source code to identify i18n/l10n issues and collaborate with engineers.
- Experience using GitHub for version control and project tracking.
- Ability to design automation or scripting solutions to streamline localization tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal English; fluency in at least one other language or deep linguistic knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Lead and scale localization initiatives with volunteer localizers and language service providers to deliver localized products and maintain sustainability.
- Drive end-to-end localized product releases, defining testing and quality strategies and prioritizing localization bugs.
- Manage localization intake, scope work, coordinate execution with LSPs and platforms, and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
- Make data-informed trade-offs to balance time-to-delivery, quality, and resource allocation.
- Partner with engineering and other TPMs to design localization-ready features, improve tooling, and mitigate risks.
- Collaborate across regions and time zones to build relationships, align priorities, and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Linguistics, Localization, Project Management).
- Relevant technical or localization certifications are a plus.
