Job Summary:
The David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies (DRCLAS) at Harvard, is an international, university-wide center focusing on Latin America, the Caribbean, and their diaspora communities. Our mission is to foster, expand, and leverage Harvard's research, educational, and convening capabilities within the region. We aim to contribute to a more informed, democratic, sustainable, prosperous, equitable, and inclusive world.
The Student Programs Coordinator will be a crucial member of a dynamic student team at DRCLAS. The position will work under the supervision of the Assistant Director for Student Programs and will manage planning, operations and administrative support for various student activities at DRCLAS. The role will collaborate with colleagues, staff, and students who engage in DRCLAS-led programming throughout the entire Latin American region.
Job-Specific Responsibilities:
Student Programs
Manages multiple student programs offered over multiple cycles each academic year. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Works with the finance team to monitor program budgets and projections and ensures the processing of all student-related transactions.
• Manages the full student grant cycle: recruitment, applications, faculty review, selection and award processes.
• Forms and leads distinct faculty and staff committees for each student program cycle.
• Monitors and produces student program reports and evaluations to continuously improve program offerings.
• Makes recommendations and identifies best practices across all students programs.
Academic and Graduation-Related Opportunities
Manages student opportunities, including fellowships, prizes, and certificates for undergraduate and graduate students. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Outreach and recruitment of students.
• Organize selection and award processes
• Organize the DRCLAS Awards Ceremony
Other Duties
• Management of travel-related student activities: Ensures compliance with Harvard travel policy and plans alongside regional staff for in-country group activities.
• Student engagement and support: Serves as the primary contact and as the DRCLAS representative for students.
• Communications and Digital Content: Collaborates with the communications team to showcase program impact and updates website, databases, and weekly digital newsletter.

• This is a three-year appointment with the possibility of renewal.
• Occasional international travel required.
• All formal written offers will be made by FAS Human Resources.

• This is a hybrid position based in Massachusetts.
• The normal scheduled hours for this 35 hour/week position are 9:00 a.m.to 5:00 p.m. However, occasionally (approximately 3-5 times per year), the scheduled hours for the 35-hour/week may need to be adjusted for special events. Occasional overtime and travel, including international travel, may also be required.

Work Format Details
This position has been determined by school or unit leaders that some of the duties and responsibilities can be effectively performed at a non-Harvard location. The work schedule and location will be set by the department at its discretion and based upon operational needs. When not working at a Harvard or Harvard-designated location, employees in hybrid positions must work in a Harvard registered state in compliance with the University’s Policy on Employment Outside of Massachusetts. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
