Job Description

Job Summary:

The Program Coordinator will support a research program in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health focusing on community engagement and cancer prevention and control in community health centers. This will include the Massachusetts Center for Advancing Cancer Control Engaged Research Through Transformative Solutions (Mass-ACCERT) and Massachusetts Cancer Prevention and Control Research Network (MCPCRN). The Program Coordinator will work as part of a research team collaborating closely with community partners on projects aiming to advance research in cancer control, social determinants of health, and implementation science.          

Job-Specific Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Coordinate, and have direct responsibility for, a set of tasks supporting research collaborations with community partners including community health centers, and other activities supporting community engagement and program administration
  • Develop and implement administrative systems, project planning, overseeing deadlines, tracking deliverables, and overall coordination
  • Coordinate and track processing of partner agreements, orders, invoices, and reimbursements
  • Develop surveys in REDCap and collect, track, summarize, and maintain survey data across multiple time points
  • Coordinate documentation, collection, and maintenance of common data elements collected across centers
  • Collect and track local policy data
  • Serve as primary contact and liaison for various communications channels, and collate and draft content for website posts, newsletters, and listservs
  • Maintain regular updates to websites
  • Develop communications messaging and materials for engaging community health center leaders and staff, and other audiences from funders to community members
  • Attend team meetings, take thorough meeting notes for distribution, and help to identify and form synergies across teams and projects
  • Coordinate events and meetings, including Implementation Learning Community sessions, advisory group meetings, grantee meetings
  • Draft, edit and prepare correspondence, reports and other materials using word processing, spreadsheets and/or databases
  • Make periodic reports of project status to supervisor and the larger research teams
  • Process, organize, and summarize data, reporting results in Word, Excel, REDCap, and NVivo
  • Collate, organize, and draft materials for the preparation of research papers, manuscripts, progress reports, and presentations
  • Support smooth day-to-day flow of communications and outreach for program activities with internal team members as well as external partners and collaborators
  • Support planning and coordination of community engagement activities, including Community Engagement Studios
  • Perform other duties as assigned

PLEASE NOTE: This position has a term appointment of one year with the possibility of extension.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience is required; a combination of education and experience may be considered

Additional Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree
  • Experience in data management
  • Solid working knowledge of office operations and intermediate skills using related computer software (including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and electronic communications tools
  • Experience working successfully with a diverse range of ethnic, cultural, and economic communities
  • Interest in community-engaged research required, experience strongly preferred
  • Experience working independently to perform a wide range of complex administrative and programmatic duties to support a research (or similar) program
  • Experience supporting communications and dissemination efforts to various audiences and through a range of channels
  • Experience using REDCap, WordPress, Mail Chimp, and social media sites in context of professional communications
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational and time management skills
  • Proven interpersonal skills with experience in providing administrative support across groups and across a variety of projects
  • Strong listening, communication, writing, presentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Aptitude to effectively collaborate and communicate with a broad range of researchers, partners, and audiences

Work Format Details

This position has been determined by school or unit leaders that some of the duties and responsibilities can be effectively performed at a non-Harvard location. The work schedule and location will be set by the department at its discretion and based upon operational needs. When not working at a Harvard or Harvard-designated location, employees in hybrid positions must work in a Harvard registered state in compliance with the University’s Policy on Employment Outside of Massachusetts. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
