We are seeking a Sr. Technical Project Manager to join our team supporting the Los Alamos National Laboratory! This position is full-time and will be based out of Los Alamos, New Mexico with hybrid flexibility.
Responsibilities
Manage and ensure the timely completion of discrete technical project scope.
Define, oversee, and manage project deliverables, budgets, schedules, and risks.
Lead and support project teams in planning, tracking, and executing scope from initiation through turnover.
Manage project activities in alignment with Triad prime contract and National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) requirements.
Organize work into control accounts and work packages to meet programmatic objectives.
Report to the Project Program Director and oversee day-to-day administrative and operational management within an assigned program area.
Develop, implement, and evaluate policies, procedures, and standards.
Determine program service levels and identify enhancements.
Assist in the development and monitoring of program budgets.
Provide technical guidance to project teams, support departments, and matrixed resources.
Requirements
Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree and 12+ years of relevant experience related DOE nuclear experience; additional, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.
Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
Experience managing projects within a DOE Hazard Category 2, Security Classification 1 facility.
Prior nuclear experience is required due to the environment in which work is performed.
Strong ability to manage technical requirements, schedules, budgets, and risks.
Experience overseeing project execution from initiation through turnover.
Ability to manage administrative and operational functions within a program.
Desired Skills
Prior Department of Energy (DOE) or National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) experience managing D&D, construction, testing, and turnover in a nuclear environment.
Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), including serving as a Control Account Manager (CAM) or equivalent.
Experience working under DOE O 413.3B requirements, including Critical Decisions (CDs) and associated review processes such as Technical Independent Project Review (TIPR), Independent Cost Estimate (ICE), External Independent Review (EIR), and Annual Project Review (APR).
Experience in work control, hazard management, radiological or operational activities, and quality assurance.
Experience resolving complex technical and regulatory issues, including Commercial Grade Dedication and Issues Management within an NQA-1 program.

The NNSA's Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), located in Los Alamos, New Mexico, is a design laboratory responsible for the safety and reliability of the nuclear explosives package in nuclear weapons.
