Campaign Manager, New York

The Building Decarbonization Coalition (BDC) is a nonprofit coalition advancing equitable, large-scale removal of fossil fuels from buildings through policy, research, market development and public engagement. BDC seeks a Campaign Manager to design and implement New York-focused campaigns that drive legislative and regulatory progress, coordinate coalition partners, and amplify narratives that accelerate building electrification while centering frontline and low- and moderate-income communities.

Skills

  • Campaign strategy and management for state and local policy campaigns
  • Coalition building and stakeholder engagement across diverse sectors
  • Policy analysis and experience with legislative and regulatory processes
  • Campaign communications, messaging development and media engagement
  • Strong project management and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to center equity and environmental justice in campaign design

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement local and statewide campaign strategies, theories of change, milestones and metrics.
  • Design campaign materials, policy briefings, and strategic resources for coalition partners and policymakers.
  • Convene, support, and maintain relationships with coalitions including environmental justice groups, labor, industry, and community leaders.
  • Represent BDC as a lobbyist and engage with legislative and regulatory processes at local and state levels.
  • Coordinate cross-organizational campaign activities and support membership engagement through webinars, briefings, and events.
  • Collaborate with communications team on messaging, earned media opportunities, and narrative frameworks.
  • Track campaign progress, adapt plans to shifting political timelines, and report outcomes to leadership.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in public policy, environmental studies, political science, or related field or equivalent professional experience
  • Equivalent experience in advocacy or campaigning accepted in lieu of formal degree
