Skills
- Deep knowledge of EO/IR sensor phenomenology, SNR, detection theory, and environmental effects
- Experience designing detection algorithms, filtering, feature extraction, and image processing
- Strong algorithm development and production coding experience (productionization of prototypes)
- Modeling and simulation skills, including Monte Carlo and hardware-in-the-loop validation
- Ability to work cross-functionally with software, systems, and test teams and communicate results to stakeholders
- Current ability to hold and maintain an active U.S. Secret clearance
Responsibilities
- Design and implement real-time discrimination algorithms for EO/IR sensors to classify threats, decoys, debris, and clutter
- Build signal-processing pipelines: detection, feature extraction, image processing, and measurement generation
- Develop advanced decision logic and adaptive classification workflows to improve discrimination performance
- Model sensor phenomenology, perform Monte Carlo and physics-based simulations, and validate with recorded playback and hardware-in-the-loop testing
- Analyze algorithm performance under contested, degraded, and countermeasure-rich environments
- Collaborate with software and systems engineers to transition algorithms from prototype to production
- Engage with customers and stakeholders to present solutions and demonstrate system performance
Education
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or related technical field
- Advanced degree (MS or PhD) preferred for senior or research-heavy roles
