Senior Software Engineer, Platform Security
Skills
- 6+ years designing and developing production software (8+ for Staff)
- Proficient in at least one: C++, Rust, or Go
- Strong software engineering fundamentals for building and operating complex systems
- Experience in or strong motivation to work on security for distributed systems
- Ability to translate product requirements into secure implementations
- Comfortable working across multiple domains rather than a single specialization
- Strong communication and cross-team negotiation skills
- Eligible to obtain and maintain active U.S. Secret security clearance
Responsibilities
- Design and implement security features and services for business-line products
- Identify cross-product patterns and promote them into shared platform security services
- Build tooling, libraries, and reference implementations to enable secure adoption by teams
- Lead security architecture reviews and perform threat modeling
- Implement cryptographic protocols, key management, and certificate infrastructure
- Work across secure hardware, operating systems, container orchestration, and cloud
- Provide hands-on engineering support to business-line teams adopting platform services
- Collaborate with Security Applications & Tools on cross-cutting security infrastructure
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) preferred but not required
