Site Reliability Engineer
Skills
- Hands-on experience with observability tools (Elastic Observability, Prometheus/Grafana, AWS CloudWatch/CloudTrail)
- Strong data experience with data structures, databases, distributed computing, and API-driven architectures (SQL and NoSQL)
- Familiarity with DevSecOps and CI/CD tools and processes (Git, Jenkins, GitLabCI, SonarQube, Trivy)
- Experience contributing to software architecture, reliability, and scaling decisions
- Cloud experience (AWS) and deploying production services in cloud environments
- Ability to produce analytics and automated data/metadata pipelines
- Clearance eligibility for at least Secret and ability to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain observability and automation features for cloud-based government systems
- Deploy and operate observability platforms (Elastic Observability, Prometheus/Grafana, AWS CloudWatch/CloudTrail) to identify performance and cost bottlenecks
- Develop analytics, enrich data from corporate sources, summarize artifacts, and prepare results for downstream analytics and queries
- Deploy solutions to customer-supported tools to automate data and metadata analysis
- Assess and improve quality, performance, and reliability of existing SaaS, WebApp, and COTS GIS tool deployments
- Contribute to software architecture and design for reliability and scaling of new and existing systems
- Mentor junior engineers and enable DevOps developer best practices
- Advise customers on technical solutions and collaborate frequently with peer engineering teams
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field plus 5 years of relevant non-internship experience, OR
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field plus 3 years of relevant experience
