Senior Flight Test Engineer, Air Dominance & Strike
Skills
- Proven experience conducting and directing developmental flight tests for manned or unmanned systems.
- Strong knowledge of MIL-STD standards (e.g., 882E, 516C, 1553, 1760, AS5653).
- Familiarity with National Airspace System, restricted airspace, and UAS operating rules and regulations.
- Hands-on experience in aero/performance, loads/dynamics, propulsion, or electrical test engineering.
- Test planning, requirements development, and test reporting skills.
- Data collection, instrumentation, and initial analytics capability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, execute, and report all facets of developmental ground and flight test events for the Fury UAS.
- Serve as test conductor/director for developmental aircraft and weapons/missile systems, including resource planning and safety compliance.
- Lead and collaborate with flight test engineers, functional engineers, and program stakeholders during range operations and test events.
- Collect test data, perform initial data reduction and analysis, and communicate findings to engineering and program teams.
- Develop and review test requirements, test plans, and test reports; recommend process improvements and test methodology.
- Ensure operations comply with applicable MIL-STDs, airspace rules, and safety procedures; coordinate with government and range authorities.
- Support prototype development activities and initial issue investigation during early development phases.
- Travel as required for test planning and execution and work extended hours when necessary.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline from an accredited institution, or equivalent engineering experience.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Top Secret-Level security clearance.
