Ecological Solutions Manager

RES is a mission-driven environmental firm focused on restoration, compensatory mitigation, water quality, and resilience solutions. The Ecological Solutions Manager will combine technical expertise and business development skills to sell advisory, construction, and design-build services across the assigned region, lead multidisciplinary teams, and grow strategic client relationships to meet regional sales goals.

Skills

  • Advanced understanding of environmental regulations and permitting (e.g., CWA 404/402/401, NWP/IP, NPDES, ESA)
  • Experience with restoration design principles, functional calculations, and ecological data interpretation
  • Proven sales and business development experience in environmental or regulatory markets
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with public agencies, developers, consultants, non-profits, and academia
  • Strong negotiation and consensus-building skills across multiple stakeholders
  • Experience leading project delivery, budgeting, and client communications
  • Comfortable traveling frequently and representing the company externally

Responsibilities

  • Achieve defined annual sales targets and contribute to RES’s strategic growth plan
  • Prospect and maintain a sales pipeline approximately 4x the goal to drive bookings
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams through the RES sales process to win and deliver projects
  • Position RES as a strategic advisor by monitoring client issues and proposing innovative solutions
  • Represent RES at conferences, trade groups, and external leadership opportunities to raise brand visibility and generate leads
  • Provide feedback on customer behavior and preferences to help refine RES service offerings
  • Negotiate contracts, procurement approaches, and pricing strategies with clients and stakeholders
  • Travel regionally (up to 50% of time) for client meetings, site visits, and industry events

Education

  • BA/BS in Biology, Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrology, Engineering, Agricultural Science, or related field
  • Advanced degree or professional certifications (preferred) in related disciplines or project management
