The Director of Business Development is a senior revenue leader responsible for building and scaling Small Biz Heroes’ Partner Channel.
This role is designed for an experienced alternative finance professional who understands partner dynamics, lender positioning, and structured capital solutions. The Director of Business Development will recruit referral partners, activate submissions, close partner-sourced funding deals, and drive measurable channel revenue growth.
This position blends production and leadership development. Initially, the Director will operate as a high-level producer while building the foundation for a future Business Development team.

Your job is to build, grow, and dominate the Partner Channel.
You will be measured by:
Partner channel revenue
Active producing partners
New partner acquisition
Partner reactivation
Deal velocity from your channel
Your north star: turning referral relationships into scalable, predictable revenue.
As Director of Business Development, you will:
Recruit and close new referral partners
Activate new partners quickly and drive first submissions
Reactivate dormant partners
Manage and grow your partner portfolio
Close partner-sourced funding deals
Assist with overflow deal volume when necessary
Educate partners on deal quality and positioning
Track all activity and pipeline within Close CRM
Collaborate closely with the VP of Sales and CEO
Lay the foundation to eventually build and lead a Business Development team
This is a performance-driven leadership seat.
Typical performance focus includes:
New partners closed monthly
Active producing partners
Monthly partner channel revenue
Revenue per partner
Conversion rates on partner-sourced deals
Pipeline cleanliness and CRM discipline

Base Salary: $60,000-80,000 starting salary per year
