Skills
- 9+ years of software development experience with strong programming skills (Python, Java, Golang, or TypeScript).
- Hands-on experience deploying and managing medium to large-scale Kubernetes or containerized architectures.
- Proven experience with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana) and troubleshooting performance/availability issues.
- Experience with IaC and automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, CDK) for infrastructure provisioning and ops.
- Familiarity with cloud providers (AWS, GCP) and networking (load balancing, DNS, ingress/egress).
- Customer-facing experience with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively on remote teams and collaborate across engineering and product stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the frontline technical expert working directly with developers and engineering teams to deploy, debug, and optimize Temporal in production.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, and performance issues across Kubernetes, AWS/GCP, and microservices environments.
- Design and implement observability and monitoring solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, tracing) to improve reliability and diagnostics.
- Develop automation and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CDK, Ansible) to streamline deployments and reduce operational toil.
- Create and promote best practices, diagnostic tools, runbooks, and self-service solutions to improve developer experience.
- Drive technical solutions independently and collaborate with product and platform teams to influence product improvements.
- Mentor and share knowledge with peers and customers; act as a bridge between developer and infrastructure teams.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
- Formal training or certifications in cloud/Kubernetes (e.g., CKA) are a plus.
- Technical or professional training in observability, infrastructure automation, or distributed systems is beneficial.
