Skills
- Proficiency in one or more languages such as Python, C++, or Go
- Designing and implementing security for operating systems, distributed systems, or large-scale infrastructure
- Applied cryptography fundamentals and cryptographic primitives
- Network protocol knowledge including TCP/IP and UDP-based protocols
- Experience with TPMs, HSMs, or secure/authenticated boot (preferred)
- Vulnerability research, incident response, and adversary detection experience
Responsibilities
- Design and build security infrastructure and cryptographic services for Starshield systems
- Develop and integrate security features across routers, dishes, gateways, and satellites
- Design security controls into factory and deployment processes
- Maintain and improve production systems to enhance security posture
- Prototype, test, and iterate on security improvements and mitigations
- Collaborate with other engineering teams to incorporate secure design and implementation
Education
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or another STEM discipline OR 2+ years professional security software development in lieu of a degree
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) preferred for senior roles
- Ability and eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
