We build AI for local governments. We currently serve cities across 10+ states; CA ones include Palo Alto, Burbank, Petaluma, Hesperia, and Lake Elsinore. City staff across every department use us to help them research, draft reports, and benchmark against other cities. Our mission is to augment every local government workflow with LLMs, and to harness the collective knowledge of every US city to improve all decision making.
We’ve raised $4.5M from investors like Penny Jar (Steph Curry), Formation, and Pathlight to pursue our mission. Our team of 7 is based in Fidi in San Francisco, with a smaller presence in New York.
Cities operate the levers that most directly impact our quality of life and enable the American Dream (housing, safety, transit, recreation, etc). Every city’s focus is to better the place their residents call home, but they face heavily varying challenges: build housing to make rent affordable, improve public safety, support young families, create economic opportunity so the next generation stays, build a community where people feel they belong, and so forth.
Public servants have been incorrectly scapegoated for government inefficiency. The real cause is awful software from PE-owned govtech companies, who haven’t improved or innovated their products in decades. The gov software you’ve ever interacted with is just the surface of what our public servants are forced to use. Fixing this is the highest-leverage way to better our cities. We believe it’s our duty to help our public servants reignite the American Dream, one city at a time.
You are a full stack, LLM, or backend engineer that wants to own and execute on core projects like:
Design/scale a horizontal AI agent that works across all departments, cities, and states.
Automatically process millions of gov records to create agent-legible knowledge graphs.
You'll be great for this role if you have:
3+ years building production systems at high-velocity startups, from early stage through scaling
Track record of shipping and owning AI products end-to-end
Experience integrating AI into product workflows—using LLMs, building with agentic frameworks, or deploying AI-powered features
Bias toward action and pragmatic decision-making over perfect solutions
Comfortable context-switching between architecture decisions, implementation, and cross-functional collaboration
Proficiency with our tech stack including Python, TypeScript, FastAPI, Supabase, Selenium, NextJS, TailwindCSS, shadcn, LLM APIs
You’re based in SF or NY and want to work onsite 5 days a week
Highly competitive base and equity compensation
Lunch and dinner provided via DoorDash
Top of the market medical, dental, and vision coverage
Unlimited PTO
Gym membership subsidy
