Skills
- Deep experience with cloud-native infrastructure (AWS: EKS, Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, Kinesis).
- Proven distributed systems and high-throughput data pipeline design experience.
- Hands-on experience with agentic AI workflows and architecting multi-agent systems.
- Experience with real-time state management, telemetry ingest, and time-series data.
- Strong API and integration design working across firmware, mobile, and platform teams.
- Familiarity with streaming platforms (Kafka, Kinesis) and observability tooling.
- Track record of setting technical direction, mentoring senior engineers, and leading cross-team efforts.
- Experience operating production systems with on-call responsibilities and incident management.
- Security-minded engineering practices for large-scale device/cloud systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Own technical architecture and long-term roadmap for Devices Cloud: connectivity, telemetry ingest, state management, command/control, and data pipelines.
- Set system-level technical direction across multiple teams, resolve cross-team design trade-offs, and align engineering efforts with company strategy.
- Design and codify AI-native engineering practices: agentic workflows, AI-assisted spec/code/test generation, and incident response playbooks.
- Partner with firmware, mobile, product, and platform teams to define APIs, integration standards, and device-driven workflows.
- Lead cross-team initiatives from conception through production, manage dependencies, and maintain accountability for outcomes.
- Anticipate bottlenecks and failure modes; define safeguards, security practices, and engineering standards to prevent recurrence.
- Mentor Staff and Senior engineers, provide high-quality technical reviews, and elevate team-wide engineering standards.
- Participate in on-call rotation and lead high-severity incident response, post-mortems, and systemic remediation.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience (required).
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in related field is a plus.
