Senior UX Engineer, Design Systems
Skills
- Strong component architecture skills in a modern component framework (React + TypeScript preferred)
- Demonstrated experience shipping design systems and reusable UI at scale
- Solid understanding of accessibility best practices (WCAG) and state modeling
- Fluency with design tokens, layout systems, and interaction states
- Documentation-first approach enabling team self-service
- Familiarity with Storybook or similar component documentation workflows (plus)
- Experience with visual regression testing and CI quality gates (plus)
- Working knowledge of AI development tools for code-ready output generation
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain production-grade components and interaction patterns with accessibility and interaction fidelity
- Own and maintain a single documentation source of truth for design and engineering (APIs, variants, working examples)
- Define contribution standards and guardrails to make the design system the obvious default
- Partner with feature engineering teams to deliver implementation-ready patterns and reduce bespoke UI
- Champion adoption of the design system across product, design, and engineering teams
- Incorporate motion, interaction design, and refined brand moments into system components
- Leverage AI-assisted tooling to accelerate code-ready output and authoring workflows
- Support quality via visual regression testing, CI gates, and component testing where applicable
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, HCI, Design, or related field preferred
- Equivalent practical experience in front-end engineering or UX engineering accepted
