Skills
- Strong Java and Spring Boot backend development
- Experience with Apache Kafka or equivalent streaming platforms
- Solid understanding of distributed systems (consistency, fault tolerance, replication)
- Cloud experience (AWS preferred) and containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Practical experience using AI coding assistants and agentic workflows
- Familiarity with CI/CD, testing strategies, and deployment pipelines
- Ability to design APIs, authentication flows, and integration contracts
Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend features that integrate third-party data and partner systems (APIs, auth, webhooks, proxies).
- Use agentic AI workflows (Claude Code or equivalent) as a core development partner to generate specs, code, tests, and reviews.
- Define, document, and evangelize AI-native engineering playbooks and team workflows.
- Contribute to architecture, system design, and cross-team technical decisions with a focus on stability, versioning, and operational SLAs.
- Ship production-quality services, participate in code reviews, and mentor engineers on the team.
- Participate in on-call rotation and lead incident response and postmortems for owned services.
- Implement observability, alerting, and performance tuning for services you own.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Graduate degree (MS) is a plus but not required
