Chief People Officer - Veterinary

EVG Specialty Network is a high-growth, multi-site specialty and emergency veterinary organization focused on clinical excellence and scalable infrastructure. The Chief People Officer will design, build, and scale the entire people function—translating executive strategy into execution across recruiting, HR operations, leadership development, and total rewards to support rapid expansion across multiple hospitals and markets.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a scalable HR infrastructure across a multi-site organization
  • Standardize recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations processes
  • Build a proactive, data-driven recruiting engine for veterinarians, specialists, and leaders
  • Develop leadership capability and performance systems for hospital and departmental leaders
  • Oversee payroll, benefits, and compensation strategy to support retention and scalability
  • Ensure multi-state compliance while keeping systems simple and hospital-focused
  • Drive culture of accountability, performance, and support across the network
  • Lead and develop the HR leadership team (HR Manager, Directors of TA, L&D, Payroll & Benefits)

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (typical)
  • Master’s degree (MBA or related) preferred but not required

Benefits

  • Base salary $195,000–$210,000 with target bonus 20% of base
