The Opportunity

On behalf of our client, McInnes Rolled Rings, Decision Associates is conducting a national search for their next Human Resources Director.  As they continue to grow in a competitive manufacturing landscape, they are seeking a Human Resources Director who will champion their culture, maintain and enhance their people strategy, and help ensure McInnes remains an employer of choice in the region.

This is a high‑impact, executive‑level role for a leader who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, values teamwork, and understands the unique rhythm of a 24/7 manufacturing operation. If you are energized by building strong teams, developing leaders, and shaping organizational culture, this is your opportunity to make a lasting mark.

Position Overview

McInnes is built on craftsmanship, innovation, and a deep respect for the people who make their success possible. They take pride in their strong culture — one rooted in teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. As HR Director, you will be a steward of that culture, ensuring every associate feels valued, supported, and connected to their mission.

You will have the opportunity to influence every corner of the organization, helping McInnes continue to grow stronger, safer, and more unified.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic People Leadership

  • Partner with executive leadership to design and execute people strategies that support McInnes’ long‑term business goals.
  • Strengthen a culture of engagement, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Coach and develop managers and team leaders to elevate leadership capability across all shifts.
  • Stay current on HR trends, manufacturing workforce dynamics, and regulatory changes.

Culture & Associate Relations

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, team‑oriented culture that reflects the values McInnes is known for.
  • Build strong relationships with associates across all departments and shifts — a hallmark of leadership at McInnes.
  • Lead associate surveys, analyze results, and implement meaningful improvements that reinforce trust and engagement.
  • Design communication and education programs that strengthen understanding of policies, expectations, and cultural values.
  • Manage associate relations, investigations, conflict resolution, and performance matters with fairness and consistency.

Safety Leadership

  • Serve as the champion of McInnes’ Safety 24/7 mindset — a core pillar of their identity.
  • Maintain and report key safety metrics to executive leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety programs, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to maintain best‑in‑class safety practices that protect their associates and their reputation.

Training & Development

  • Oversee onboarding and orientation programs that introduce new associates to the McInnes way of working.
  • Identify organizational training needs and implement development initiatives that strengthen skills and leadership.
  • Support cross‑training, succession planning, and leadership development programs that fuel long‑term growth.
  • Provide training materials, manuals, and resources to leaders and associates.

Recruitment & Talent Development

  • Lead recruiting strategies that attract top talent to a competitive manufacturing environment.
  • Drive performance management and development planning across the organization.
  • Build strong relationships with regional schools, workforce partners, and industry associations to support McInnes’ talent pipeline.

Compensation, Benefits & Compliance

  • Analyze wage and salary data to maintain competitive compensation programs that support recruitment and retention.
  • Oversee benefits administration, vendor management, claims resolution, and wellness initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Partner with executive leadership to ensure pay practices reflect McInnes’ commitment to fairness and competitiveness.

Administrative & Organizational Support

  • Plan and support company events that strengthen community and culture — from team leader meetings to company barbecues and annual gatherings.
  • Maintain job descriptions, pay plans, and performance appraisal systems.
  • Train leaders on coaching, documentation, and corrective action.
  • Represent the company in personnel‑related hearings and legal matters.
  • Review and update the associate handbook annually.
  • Collaborate with corporate HR and perform additional duties as assigned.

Who We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring professional expertise paired with genuine passion for developing people. We seek a leader of character — empathetic, hands-on, driven and possess a do whatever it takes attitude.

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Labor Relations, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR leadership experience (manufacturing preferred).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Experience managing associate relations, organizational change, and leadership development.
  • Working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Paycom experience a plus.
  • SPHR or similar certification preferred.
  •   Proficiency in standard business software (Excel, budgeting tools, Microsoft Office suite)
  • A track record of leading teams with integrity, enthusiasm, and a results-oriented mindset
