Human Resources Operations Director

CPI Security, a long-established and rapidly growing national security provider, seeks a Human Resources Operations Director based in Charlotte, NC to lead day-to-day HR operations including employee relations, benefits and leave administration, HRBP team oversight, HRIS stewardship, and compliance. The role partners with business leadership to deliver consistent, compassionate HR services and to improve HR programs and processes that support a strong employee experience.

Skills

  • Deep employee relations and investigation experience
  • Benefits strategy, administration, billing and vendor management
  • Leave management including FMLA and ADA accommodations
  • HRIS administration and data reporting (UKG experience preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and compliance
  • Analytical skills to interpret HR metrics and recommend improvements
  • Coaching and stakeholder management skills for leaders and HRBPs

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the HR Business Partner team, facilitate team meetings, and ensure consistent HR policy application
  • Act as senior point of contact for complex employee relations, investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations
  • Oversee benefits program design, annual open enrollment, vendor relationships, audits, and regulatory compliance
  • Manage administration of leave programs including FMLA, ADA accommodations, disability, and workers’ compensation
  • Ensure HR operations (onboarding/offboarding, HRIS, personnel files, policy management) run efficiently and compliantly
  • Maintain and improve HR reports, dashboards, and data-driven metrics to support business decisions
  • Partner with Legal on sensitive employment matters and lead internal HR compliance audits and remediation
  • Support employee engagement, recognition programs, and culture-building initiatives

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • HR certification preferred (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP)
