Front-End Application Developer

This role sits within an agile, mission-driven software development team supporting large-scale government systems focused on environmental data and sustainability initiatives. You will be responsible for building and maintaining modern, accessible, and high-quality user interfaces that help stakeholders track, report, and manage critical environmental information. Working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, you will partner closely with analysts, designers, and product stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable and scalable applications. The position emphasizes strong front-end expertise while also requiring comfort contributing across the full stack when needed. You will play a key role in ensuring applications are secure, maintainable, and aligned with accessibility and compliance standards. - Participate in all phases of the Agile software development lifecycle, including planning, design, development, testing, and deployment of front-end focused applications.
- Build and maintain responsive, scalable, and accessible user interfaces using modern frameworks such as React or Angular with TypeScript.
- Collaborate closely with business analysts, scrum masters, designers, and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Contribute to backend services using Node.js when required, ensuring seamless integration across the full stack.
- Ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to software engineering best practices across all deliverables.
- Support the development and maintenance of technical documentation, including design specifications, user guides, and release notes.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, Agile best practices, and continuous improvement within the development team.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to tools, frameworks, and development processes.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a full-stack developer with strong emphasis on front-end development.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern front-end frameworks such as React or Angular.
- Experience with Node.js for backend development and willingness to contribute across the full stack.
- Experience working with AWS cloud services and cloud-based application architectures.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL and relational database concepts preferred.
- Exposure to event-driven architecture patterns is a plus.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban) and experience working in Agile teams.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong UX/UI awareness and ability to apply design principles in front-end development.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and remote-first environment.
