Software Engineer (Backend, Distributed Systems)
Skills
- 3+ years building distributed systems such as data ingestion pipelines, databases, or backend services.
- Proficient in object-oriented programming; experience with Go preferred.
- Experience with at least one cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Familiarity with message queue technologies (Kinesis, Pub/Sub, Kafka, etc.).
- Experience working with large-scale databases (BigTable, Spanner, HBase, Cassandra, etc.).
- Solid understanding of scalability, fault tolerance, and reliability in distributed systems.
- Able to write clear, testable, maintainable code and communicate effectively across teams.
- Familiarity with AI/ML integration is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain large-scale, real-time services and APIs that leverage massive datasets for internal and external consumers.
- Develop tooling, libraries, frameworks, and services to support security, research, and data platform initiatives.
- Productionize prototypes into reliable, maintainable internal tools or platform capabilities.
- Participate in architectural planning and technical discussions with engineering and product teams.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines, messaging systems, databases, caching layers, and cloud/on-prem services.
- Collaborate with Machine Learning Engineers and Security Researchers to implement solutions that improve security outcomes.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Master's degree is a plus but not required.
