Skills
- Proficiency in analytical toolchains (MATLAB, Python)
- Experience with radiometric performance and remote sensing model development
- Familiarity with opto-electrical test and measurement equipment and rapid prototyping
- Ability to decompose complex systems and define interfaces and requirements
- Experience from concept through system design, test, and delivery
- Willingness to travel to test sites as needed
- Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance
- Familiarity with EO/IR modeling packages (MODTRAN, SPIRITS, AFSIM) is a plus
Responsibilities
- Define system architectures through detailed trade studies and system-level analyses
- Develop and adapt physics-based sensor performance models and derive system requirements
- Perform radiometric performance modeling and model atmospheric/environmental effects
- Lead development of prototype sensor systems in the lab and validate against data
- Plan and execute laboratory, ground, and flight testing and demonstrations
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and mission teams to integrate and deliver systems
- Validate and refine models using laboratory and real-world measurements
- Coordinate and communicate technical results to internal and external stakeholders
Education
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- MS or PhD in a related technical discipline preferred
