Design & Engineering Summer Intern

Dive into the inaugural year of the SeaWorld San Diego Summer Internship Program, an exciting new opportunity designed to give students meaningful, real-world experience in a dynamic theme park environment. As this inaugural year launches, interns will play an important role in shaping a program that will grow for years to come. Internships are open to undergraduate students who are currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university.

What you get to do:

  • Performs light drafting with new and existing documents.
  • Maintains engineering documents and records; organize, scan, file, and archive.
  • Project coordination, project closeout, permit coordination support.
  • SAP building assignment for projects.
  • Maintains safe work environment.
  • Create and maintain systems for financial tracking and cost analysis OPEX.
  • Enter purchase requisition requests.
  • Coordinate park access for contractors.
  • Prepare and maintain confidential company information.
  • Provide administrative support for the department.
  • Seek to obtain and purchase all goods and services at the lowest possible total end user cost considering the guidelines of quality, delivery, service and price
  • Work in a team environment and interact with operational units and vendors in a professional manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


What it takes to succeed:

  • Experience in construction, procurement, contract administration, or finance preferred
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills; able to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to track and reconcile multiple projects with detail and accuracy, including addressing tax issues.
  • Proficient in calculating figures such as proportions, percentages, and applying concepts of algebra.
  • Strong ability to respond effectively to inquiries or complaints from team members, customers, regulatory agencies, or contractors.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and SAP.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to ensure accurate follow-through on all aspects of contract compliance in accordance with corporate legal and capital project controls and procedures.


What else is important:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture or construction management
  • Preferred to have working knowledge of AutoCAD or Revit
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Able to stand, walk, and work for prolonged periods in various weather conditions.
  • Consistently practices safe work habits, including using personal protective equipment and lifting safety protocols.
  • Willing to comply with all organizational grooming guidelines and employment standards.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a park license.


Hours: Up to 40 hours per week; Monday-Friday with weekends & holidays as needed
Availability: Must have 5 days of open availability, including weekends and holidays.

Compensation: $18/hr
