Sales Development Representative, New York Area - job 1 of 2

10x Genomics is a leader in enabling biological discovery through advanced genomic platforms. The company is seeking an early-career Sales Development Representative to independently generate and qualify leads for Chromium, Visium, and Xenium across academic, government, medical research institutions, biotech/pharma and service providers while collaborating closely with Marketing, Account Managers and technical advisors.

Skills

  • Proven lead research and prospecting techniques
  • Lead qualification and sales cycle navigation
  • CRM proficiency (opportunity and activity tracking)
  • Familiarity with sales methodologies and territory planning
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Relationship-building and cross-functional coordination
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute independent lead generation strategies to identify high-value prospects across target segments
  • Generate and qualify leads for Chromium, Visium and Xenium platforms via web inquiries, email campaigns, webinars and research
  • Coordinate handoffs and schedule meetings with Account Managers, Xenium Capital Specialists and Scientific & Technology Advisors
  • Maintain accurate opportunity and activity records in the CRM and report on pipeline and metrics
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Product Management to leverage campaigns and optimize territory-specific sales plans
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives to improve sales cycle times and drive revenue growth
  • Respond to inbound inquiries and perform outbound outreach to build product/platform awareness

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field or equivalent industry experience
  • Relevant coursework or experience in life sciences preferred
