Growth Marketer

The Role

We are looking for a Growth Marketer to build Thrad's marketing engine from scratch. Not "run campaigns." Not "manage a calendar." Build the machine. You will own how Thrad shows up in the world across every surface that matters, starting with X and LinkedIn, expanding into Instagram, and extending into whatever channel earns its place.

This is a zero-to-one role with a blank canvas. We have real traction, Fortune 500 clients, and a strong product story. What we do not have yet is a repeatable engine that turns that story into predictable top-of-funnel. You will build it.

We are looking for someone who studies what works, runs optimization loops, doubles down fast, and brings ideas we have not seen before. The distance between having an idea on Monday and seeing it live on Tuesday should be measured in hours.

What You Will Own

  • Social media, end to end. Crack the algorithms on X and LinkedIn first. Instagram later. You know what makes content travel on each surface, and you can prove it with receipts.

  • Content production. You film, edit, and ship high-quality video yourself. You do not wait for an agency. If we are at a conference, on a sales trip, or in the office shipping, you are capturing it and turning it into content by the end of the week.

  • The marketing infrastructure. Lead capture from socials, qualification logic, enrichment, routing to sales, email campaigns, retargeting, nurture sequences. You build the pipes and optimize them continuously.

  • Email and outbound systems. Design campaigns, A/B test subject lines, measure opens and replies, iterate fast. Own the full lifecycle from first impression to first sales call.

  • The brand image. You will shape how Thrad looks, sounds, and feels from day one. Voice, visual language, cadence, the things that make people stop scrolling.

  • Measurement and optimization. Every experiment has a hypothesis, a metric, and a kill-or-scale decision. You run optimization loops continuously and bring the data to every conversation.

  • Field presence. You will travel with the commercial team to conferences, dinners, trade shows, and everywhere interesting. You will capture it, ship content from it, and turn it into pipeline.

What You Will Do

  • Study what works on X and LinkedIn at the level of the post, the thread, the video, the hook, the hour of day. Build a repeatable system for getting Thrad content to travel.

  • Film and edit high-quality video content. Conference clips, founder POV, product demos, behind-the-scenes, whatever the moment calls for.

  • Design and build the lead capture and qualification infrastructure. Turn social engagement into qualified pipeline.

  • Run email campaigns end to end: list building, segmentation, copy, sending, measurement, iteration.

  • Build the content calendar and the production system behind it. Not a spreadsheet of posts, a machine.

  • Propose marketing ideas nobody has seen before. Test the weird ones. Double down on what works.

  • Travel with the commercial team to every conference, dinner, and event that matters. Capture and ship in real time.

  • Own the measurement layer across everything. Impressions, engagement, click-through, reply rate, qualified leads, pipeline, closed revenue.

Who You Are

Must-haves

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in growth, social, content, or demand gen. Ideally at a startup where you had to build the function yourself.

  • Demonstrable track record of cracking algorithms on X and LinkedIn. You can show posts that traveled and explain why they worked.

  • Serious video editing skills. You own the full production chain from filming to finished edit, and you have the work to prove it.

  • You have built a marketing infrastructure before, or enough pieces of one that you know how they fit together. Lead capture, CRM, email tooling, analytics, attribution.

  • Comfortable with experimentation end to end: hypothesis, build, measure, kill or scale. You treat every campaign as a test, not a launch.

  • Proactive and agentic. You do not wait for a brief. You ship, measure, and come back with data.

  • Outside-the-box thinker. You are allergic to marketing that looks like every other startup's marketing. You have ideas.

  • Comfortable with travel. A meaningful share of this role happens on the road with the commercial team.

  • Based in San Francisco or willing to relocate. This is an in-person role at our SF HQ.

Nice-to-haves

  • Existing audience on X or LinkedIn, or a track record of building one for a brand.

  • Experience with ad platforms (LinkedIn Ads, X Ads, Meta Ads) and lifecycle tooling (Customer.io, Loops, HubSpot, or similar).

  • Background in ad tech, martech, developer tools, or B2B infrastructure.

  • Design sensibility. You can lay out a landing page, a social graphic, or a deck that looks premium without needing a designer.

  • Interest in the AI and LLM ecosystem and how brands will reach users inside conversational interfaces.

  • You have built a personal brand, a newsletter, a podcast, or anything else from zero to an audience.
