Signal Integrity Engineer
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and practical experience in high-speed digital design
- 5+ years experience designing high-speed PCBs or packages at 10Gbps and above (e.g., 100GbE, GDDR6, PCIe Gen5+)
- Familiarity with SI performance metrics: ICR, ERL, COM, NEXT, FEXT
- Knowledge of high-speed connector technologies and materials (including NPO, CPO)
- Proficiency with PCB ECAD tools, ideally Cadence Allegro
- Experience with SI/PI extraction and simulation tools and lab correlation
- Strong written and verbal communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Design, extract, and simulate complex breakout structures and end-to-end interconnects, validating models against physical hardware.
- Perform SI and PI board model extraction and simulation, and correlate simulations with lab and post-silicon measurements.
- Collaborate with internal ASIC packaging teams, ODMs, and layout teams to create design specifications and support sign-off.
- Drive adoption and evaluation of new interconnect, connector, and packaging technologies, including material trade-offs.
- Participate in design reviews providing SI/PI expertise and system-level insight.
- Support post-silicon bring-up, troubleshoot production/field failures related to signal and power integrity.
- Document design processes, create training materials, and share knowledge across engineering teams.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field (required)
- Master's or PhD in EE or related field (preferred)
