Sr. RFIC Design Engineer (RFIC Engineering)
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in EE, CE or CS and 5+ years RFIC experience
- Experience with simulation tools such as Spectre, ADS, HFSS or Momentum
- Circuit design and analysis of linear and non-linear circuits (PLLs, mixers, oscillators, modulators, LNAs, PAs, filters)
- Knowledge of digital communication systems and modulation types (QPSK, APSK, QAM)
- Understanding of RF transceiver architectures and microwave design in Ku/K/Ka bands
- Familiarity with RF test equipment (spectrum analyzer, vector signal analyzer/generator, network analyzer)
- Experience characterizing radio performance at microwave frequencies
- Eligibility for ITAR work (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) as required
Responsibilities
- Design, simulate and model RF/analog/mixed-signal circuits and systems
- Derive specifications for RFIC subsystems and circuits
- Develop analog/mixed-signal/RF/microwave circuits in SiGe or CMOS processes
- Collaborate with system architects, modem/DSP and ASIC engineers on functional partitioning
- Perform IC floor planning and layout and model package/external parasitics
- Evaluate and characterize prototypes and analyze full radio performance
- Assist in development of automated test lab equipment and lab measurements
- Work with manufacturing engineers on production testing and qualification
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science (required)
- Master's degree or PhD in EE/CE with RF/analog emphasis (preferred)
