Skills
- Proficiency in one or more development languages (Python, C++, Golang)
- Applied cryptography knowledge and designing cryptographic services
- Operating system and distributed systems security design and implementation
- Network security and understanding of TCP/IP and UDP-based protocols
- Experience with secure/authenticated boot and special-purpose security hardware (TPM/HSM)
- Vulnerability research, incident response, and adversary detection skills
- Strong written and verbal communication and cross-team collaboration
Responsibilities
- Design and build security infrastructure and cryptographic services for Starshield systems
- Develop and implement security features for routers, dishes, gateways, and satellites
- Integrate security into factory processes and network services supporting production
- Maintain and improve production security posture through implementation and guidance
- Prototype and test security improvements, and support vulnerability research and mitigation
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and provide clear security recommendations
Education
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or another STEM field OR 2+ years professional security software development in lieu of a degree
- Advanced degree in a technical or engineering discipline preferred
- Ability and eligibility to obtain and maintain Top Secret (or higher) U.S. security clearance
