Skills
- Proven RFIC/MMIC design and simulation experience
- Experience with simulation tools such as Spectre, ADS, HFSS or Momentum
- Design and analysis of linear and nonlinear circuits (PLLs, vector modulators, oscillators, mixers, filters, LNAs, PAs)
- Knowledge of digital communications and modulation schemes (QPSK, APSK, QAM)
- Familiarity with RF transceiver architectures and RF front-end blocks S-band to W-band
- Experience with RF test equipment: spectrum analyzers, vector signal analyzers/generators, network analyzers
- IC floorplanning, layout and packaging experience
- Ability to characterize radio performance at microwave frequencies
Responsibilities
- Design, simulate, and model RF/analog/mixed-signal circuits and systems
- Derive specifications for RFIC subsystems and individual circuits
- Develop analog/mixed-signal/RF/microwave circuits in SiGe, GaAs, GaN, or CMOS processes
- Partition functions with system architects, modem/DSP and ASIC engineers
- Perform IC floor planning and layout and collaborate on packaging
- Model package and external parasitic components and own packaging prototypes
- Evaluate and characterize prototypes and iterate designs
- Develop automated test lab equipment and measurement procedures
- Work with manufacturing engineers on production testing and qualification
- Support off-site testing and travel as required; support critical milestones including long hours/weekends
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science (required)
- Master's or PhD in EE/CE with RF/analog emphasis (preferred)
