Responsibilities
- Perform fluids system sizing analysis to define system requirements
- Develop hardware concepts and perform trade studies for architecture choices
- Produce detailed CAD models and engineering prints for pressurized and unpressurized parts
- Perform structural analysis to validate part survivability and safety margins
- Implement design-for-manufacturability changes to improve production efficiency
- Drive initial builds of flight hardware and work with manufacturing to establish production flow
- Plan and execute development, qualification, and acceptance testing of flight hardware
- Participate in design reviews with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders
- Partner across engineering and production to iterate on designs and next-generation concepts
- Develop concept-of-operations from acceptance testing through in-flight procedures
Education
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in engineering or physics
- Graduating in 2026 or 2027 (new graduate)
- Relevant project, research, internship, or professional experience in fluids or mechanical design
- ITAR eligibility (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) or ability to obtain required authorizations
