Skills
- Professional Layer-1 experience (DWDM, optical fiber, circuit troubleshooting, activations).
- Hands-on experience bringing up switches, routers, firewalls, and servers.
- Strong knowledge of IP networking: Ethernet, IPv4, IPv6, BGP, OSPF, MPLS.
- Experience with carrier/service-provider environments, POPs, and colocation operations.
- Familiarity with classified environment hardware deployments and DoD facility requirements.
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy critical ground and compute infrastructure for government satellite programs.
- Act as primary customer interface for coordinating and deploying ground infrastructure and requirements.
- Plan, manage, and expand network interconnections, colocation sites, POPs, and satellite ground stations.
- Deploy and manage network infrastructure into classified data centers and ensure compliance with security requirements.
- Collaborate with customers and internal engineering teams to iterate and improve Starshield network designs.
- Support rapid prototyping, integrated test, operational deployment, and resolve on-site outages or activations.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related engineering discipline (required).
