Skills
- Direct ownership of CMMC 2.0 or SOC 2 engagements
- Working knowledge of NIST frameworks (800-171 / 800-53)
- Identity and access management expertise
- Endpoint security and device management experience
- Cloud-based IT environments (AWS, Azure, or similar)
- Audit coordination and evidence collection
- Vendor and MSP management in regulated environments
- Clear communication with executives, auditors, and non-technical stakeholders
- Incident response and IT risk management
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end CMMC 2.0 and SOC 2 readiness: control design, evidence collection, audit coordination, and remediation
- Serve as primary contact for auditors, assessors, and external security partners
- Maintain and evolve security policies, standards, and procedures aligned with DoD and federal requirements
- Oversee identity and access management, device security, and incident response processes
- Lead IT architecture, vendor selection, and relationships with MSPs, security vendors, and cloud providers
- Ensure secure, reliable IT operations for a distributed workforce and plan scalable IT improvements
- Provide hands-on escalation support and mentor IT Support Specialist and Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
- Balance operational execution with long-term security and compliance priorities
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Systems, or related field preferred or equivalent experience
- Relevant security certifications encouraged (CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent)
- Demonstrable formal training or coursework in compliance frameworks is a plus
