- Proven veterinary practice management experience
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking abilities
- Experience interpreting data and using metrics to drive decisions
- Comfortable with practice management software (EZ Vet preferred) and Microsoft Office
- Excellent client-facing communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to create and manage schedules to ensure appropriate clinical coverage
- Experience with basic financial oversight: billing, budgets, and reporting
Responsibilities
- Lead daily clinic operations and maintain composure under pressure
- Schedule veterinarians and CSRs; coordinate with Nurse Manager for assistants and LVT coverage
- Partner with medical leadership to optimize patient flow and clinical efficiency
- Design and execute marketing and client retention initiatives
- Oversee front-desk operations, client communications, and service recovery
- Manage hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management for staff
- Maintain facility standards for safety, cleanliness, and equipment readiness
- Monitor financials, billing, insurance claims, and assist with budgeting and reporting
- Use practice metrics and reports to identify opportunities and implement improvements
- Represent the hospital in community outreach and referral relationship building
Education
- Previous management experience in a veterinary setting (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or related field preferred but not required
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CVPM/RVPM) are a plus
