Field Clinical Engineer
Skills
- Clinical rehabilitation experience with neurological populations (SCI, ALS, stroke)
- Field or clinical medical device experience supporting patients and clinicians
- Real-time troubleshooting of clinical and technical issues
- Comfort with technology and basic data review (EDC, visualization tools)
- Working knowledge of clinical research principles and GCP
- Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple participants, sites, and priorities simultaneously
Responsibilities
- Support device use, training, and optimization with participants during clinic visits and in-home sessions
- Apply rehabilitation principles (PM&R, OT, PT) to maximize participant functional outcomes with the system
- Collaborate with surgeons, investigators, and site staff to ensure protocol-compliant clinical execution
- Troubleshoot clinical and technical issues in real time and escalate to engineering when needed
- Support intraoperative and early post-implant workflows where applicable
- Ensure high-quality, protocol-aligned data collection and alignment of participant activities with study endpoints
- Translate real-world use and participant performance into actionable insights for product and algorithm development
- Develop and refine training protocols, user workflows, and clinical best practices
- Assist site onboarding, training, and ongoing engagement to scale multi-site consistency
- Support regulatory readiness and compliance with GCP and study protocols
- Travel frequently to support clinical sites and participant care
Education
- Clinical training and hands-on experience in PM&R, occupational therapy, or physical therapy
- Relevant certifications or licensure for clinical practice in applicable discipline
- Experience or training in clinical research, device support, or related fields
