About the Role

We’re hiring for the next person on our core product engineering team. Someone who is inspired by the future and wants to build what the next layer of human-computer interaction could look like for how we all use computers.

It’s a small, focused team of amazing engineers who like owning entire parts of the product end-to-end and want to work on complex technical challenges with real-impact.

Forge is a fully vertically integrated programming stack and environment and we’ve had to build the IDE, the compiler, the runtime, and the infra underneath to make it work. And separately, have also built multiple other layers that allow for Forge to work effectively to achieve the accuracy and reliability needed to automate the most critical processes on computers.

Some questions we think about:

• What does it mean for software to be living and fluid?

• What is the syntax of a programming language optimized for LLMs to read and write?

• Can an entire programming stack be fully immutable down to the database?

• How do you detect anomalies in variable values (across text, numbers, and table modalities) cheaply across tens of thousands of samples?

• How do you build a runtime that can reliably execute multi-hour processes with human-level judgment?

If these questions excite you, we should talk.

You will own and build core parts of the Forge platform end-to-end and design powerful and elegant abstractions that scale.

Requirements

• Built multiple products 0 → 1 or 1 → n / staff+ engineer experience

• Deep care for your craft - you can explain how your tools work under the hood and have opinions about them

• The ability to run independently and build what you need on your own

• Someone who can vouch that you're the best engineer they've worked with (or something you've built that speaks for itself)
