Skills
- Mechanical design and analysis for ordnance/munitions systems
- Proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks, NX)
- Test engineering: data acquisition, instrumentation, and analysis
- Practical experience with munitions/explosive operations and range safety
- Engineering documentation and drawing practices
- Ability to travel for test events (surge travel up to ~25%)
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain U.S. Top Secret clearance
Responsibilities
- Design warheads and complex ordnance/munitions systems and shepherd designs from prototype through production.
- Rapidly create high-fidelity prototype parts and assess effectiveness via range testing.
- Plan and manage arena and system testing, including experimental design, safety coordination, and logistics.
- Capture test video and telemetry, compile and analyze ground and flight test data, and produce technical reports.
- Assemble, disassemble, and handle explosive test articles and precision targets in accordance with safety protocols.
- Prepare engineering documentation: specifications, test procedures, drawings, and technical reports.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, safety, program management) to scale designs for production.
Education
- BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering (required)
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in a relevant engineering field preferred but not required
