Responsibilities
- Conduct supplier selection leveraging approved supplier lists and full market knowledge
- Partner with strategic suppliers to accelerate product development through concept scoping, trade-off analyses, and joint design activities
- Develop and execute sourcing strategy including supplier rationalization, commodity pricing plans, and TCO optimization
- Drive development and consolidation of manufacturing BOMs with Quality and Manufacturing to ramp production internally and with suppliers
- Own NPI component procurement to ensure on-time, correct deliveries for scale-up
- Manage supplier-related CAPEX request and verification during NPI
- Perform value-stream mapping to optimize supply network lead time and flexibility
- Complete BOM risk assessments and create mitigation plans per part
- Lead cost engineering to converge bottoms-up cost to target product cost and manage ad-hoc cost issues (tariffs, inflation, etc.)
- Coordinate component qualifications and supplier readiness ahead of production need dates
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (BSME, BSEE) or related technical degree
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
