Responsibilities
- Own hardware development from concept through deployment and production
- Design and develop cutting-edge infrared and imaging sensors
- Apply first-principles physics to drive design and engineering decisions
- Build prototypes, perform failure analysis, and iterate designs
- Support customer hardware demonstrations and test campaigns
- Contribute to optical system design and implementation
- Define top-level system architecture and perform trade studies
- Execute detailed opto-mechanical and electro-mechanical designs
- Mentor junior engineers, lead small teams, and manage project budgets
- Travel to test sites as required
Education
- BS in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) required; MS acceptable with equivalent experience
- Relevant coursework or training in thermal/structural analysis and optics preferred
